About NZARE

Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Hunga Rangahau Mātauranga o Aotearoa – welcome to NZARE!

The New Zealand Association for Resarch in Education (NZARE) aims to foster excellence in educational research in Aotearoa New Zealand. Its membership is made up of established and new researchers from a variety of organisations in New Zealand and overseas.

As a national organisation, NZARE connects those interested in educational research, including those at tertiary institutions, schools and early childhood centres, government agencies such as the Ministry of Education, and the New Zealand Council for Educational Research. We also have established links with other international associations for educational research.

NZARE organises annual conferences and seminars on educational research where participants drawn from New Zealand and overseas share new research and engage in academic and professional debate. Members also receive Input – He Pātaka Tuku Kōrero, the newsletter of NZARE, as well as the New Zealand Journal of Educational Studies, which publishes quality refereed papers of special interest to those in education.

NZARE has caucuses to promote and serve the interests of Māori, Pasifika and student and emerging researcher members. NZARE also has a range of special interest groups related to various educational research topics.
